Wisconsin Genetics Education and Training
The overall goal of the program is to train highly competent clinical medical geneticists who are able to provide state-of-the-art diagnostic, management and counseling services for a wide variety of genetic disorders.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison offers a masters degree in medical genetics specifically designed to train genetic counselors.
The purpose of the residency program is to identify physicians with the most promising prospects for clinical and academic proficiency in medical genetics and to offer them outstanding clinical and research training.
The Wisconsin Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Program provides interdisciplinary and disciplinary leadership training in order to improve systems of care that promote the prevention of disabilities and assure access to family-centered, community-based services and supports for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and their families. Trainees include genetic counseling students.
